Ultrafast SCIENCE

Research Area

Phenomena evolving on ultrafast time scales (few picoseconds down to hundreds of attoseconds) determine the photo-physical response of many technological materials and molecules of biological and optoelectronic  interest.

IFN has a long-standing experience in the field of ultrafast science, comprising activities related both to the development of novel ultrafast laser sources and their applications to fundamental and applied research.

This research field is broad and multidisciplinary, covering different topics such as ultrafast laser development, femtosecond laser spectroscopy and microscopy, nonlinear optical phenomena, and attosecond physics.
