A PhD position is available at IFN-CNR (Rome unit) on the project “Acoustic wave sensors and microfluidic devices”.
Description:
The activity will be performed at the Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnology (IFN), unit of Rome, National Research Council (CNR), Tor Vergata Research Area, Via del Fosso del Cavaliere 100, 00133 Rome, Italy (supervisor: Dr. Cinzia Caliendo).
The position is limited to three years, and it is offered within the framework of the PNRR Project– Rome Technopole Ecosystem – Spoke 3 Transizione Energetica. Further information can be found on our website:
In cooperation with other CNR researchers, highly sensitive surface-acoustic-wave sensors.
(SAW) will be developed for applications in gaseous and liquid environments. For this purpose, piezoelectric film materials will be integrated with the SAW sensor. The sensor concepts will be theoretically investigated (2d and 3D FEM simulations) and experimentally tested.
• Required qualification: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related field of study.
• We offer: a cooperative, interdisciplinary working atmosphere, close cooperation with researchers of other institutes, opportunity to publish the scientific results. The work covers the full spectrum from basic over applied research up to pre-industrial development and is performed in collaboration with national and international partners from university, academy and industry.
