Shane EATON

PEOPLE

Shane Eaton received a B.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the University of British Columbia in 2002, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2008. During his Ph.D., he studied the effect of repetition rate on thermal diffusion and heat accumulation during femtosecond laser writing of optical waveguides in glasses for applications in telecommunications and sensing. Shane now leads a research group at IFN-CNR based at the Department of Physics at Politecnico di Milano and currently has three funded projects related to diamond photonics for quantum information and sensing. Shane is the project coordinator of the Marie Curie ITN project LasIonDef. He has 80 publications, 100 conference contributions, 30 invited talks, 1 patent and an h-index of 34.
