Ottavia JEDRKIEWICZ

PEOPLE

Ottavia Jedrkiewicz (h-index 24, >90 peer-reviewed papers, 8 PRL, 3 patents), got her Master in Physics in 1997 in University “La Sapienza” of Rome (110/110 cum laude) and her PhD degree in Theoretical Physics at Essex University (UK) in 2002. Since 2012 she has been a Permanent Researcher for the Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnologies of CNR (Milano) and works at Insubria University (Como, Italy) detached unit of IFN-Milano, where she leads the research activities of the Ultrafast Nonlinear Optics group. O.J. has the Full Professor habilitation and holds the Laser Physics course for Physics master students.

Her research in the past 20 years has focused on experimental quantum and nonlinear optics; she is expert not only in the engineering of quantum states in nonlinear parametric down-conversion processes, and in the detection of spatial and space-time quantum correlation of the generated light, but also in pulse/beam reshaping techniques for different applications including laser microfabrication of transparent materials for cutting, drilling, waveguide generation, integrated photonic devices generation. O.J.  studies the radiation-matter interaction during the laser micromachining processes and she has developed a particular interest in the microfabrication of diamond with Bessel beams, for the realization of optofluidic and sensing prototype chips.https://www.lasiondef.eu/
